Slickrock Southern Style
Pritchett Canyon
Tuesday we headed out to Pritchett Canyon. Jeff Stevens was the trailboss for the day
and he really knows his stuff. Also on the ride were the Jersey Boys with their built to
the hilt Zuks. All total we had about 14 rigs on the run.

Not far into the trail we met the first obstacle of the day, a ledge that
we had to drop off. Not to bad but it sure got your attention and gave you an idea of
things to come. From there we found a couple of optional ledges to play at on the way to
Rocker Knocker. This is where I found the first ledge I couldn't climb. I was still trying
to nurse my rear springs, as I didnt want to have to do another swap. I also chose
to bypass the next optional section and Im glad I did. Everyone that tried it had
problems, one rolled onto its side, but no damage was sustain. As we headed up the trail
we found more and more ledges to drop off of and climb up. One seemed to give several of
the Zuks fits. Mike put on one heck of a show as he stood his lil red Zuk straight
up in the air!
From there it was on to the Waterfall, another
optional playground. There are several different lines up and of course Eddie and the
Jersey Boys had to try the hardest line. Again, one went over on its side but no big deal
as several of us jumped in and pushed him right back over.
At this point we sat for a couple of hours waiting
on a mixed group of jeeps and full-size rigs trying to get up Rocker Knocker. Finally we all decided
it would be to late to finish the trail so we headed out the way we came in. It turned out
that the first ledge of the day would be the toughest spot going out. We had to wait for
several Jeeps to winch up and finally we got a shot at it. Only a few Zuks had problems
but most made it without help. Again another great day on the trail with some of the
countries craziest Zuk heads around. |
